Because your scene sucks, too.

Mission Statement

I started this blog after recording a set for a friend of mine, and subsequently realizing how special the music scene in Athens, Ohio actually is.

Musicians in Athens are part of a community. We care for each other, we support each other, and we all celebrate our successes and have a drink together to mourn our failures. The music scene in Athens is unlike any scene anywhere else in the world.

This blog serves to promote the live acts that play here, and to promote our practice of a communal environment to towns with a nationally known scene. I cannot count the number of people I know who've matured musically in Athens, just to go to L.A. or Nashville and be crushed by the cutthroat business that music is there. If we can promote our style of life here to the business in a larger sense, than I've accomplished what I set out to do.

The music is really good, too.
